New Itsmi profile

Create your Itsmi profile

Step 2 of 3

Make your Itsmi passkey

Whoa. This makes a new, separate Itsmi profile. If you've made one before, on any device, this would be a second: a separate Itsmi profile that starts empty, which Miapps see as someone else. Sign in with yours instead.

Sign in with your Itsmi profile

When your device asks where to save your passkey, choose a password manager that syncs, such as iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, 1Password or Bitwarden.

Why one that syncs?

When your device asks where to save your passkey, choose a password manager that syncs across your devices, such as iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, 1Password or Bitwarden.

Some passkeys can't leave the device they're made on, such as one on a security key, or one that Windows Hello keeps on one computer only. Whoois doesn't accept these, because losing that device would lose your way in.

If yours was refused, try again, and choose your password manager. Your device may keep the refused passkey: you can delete it in your device's password settings.

Your Itsmi profile's page says what each passkey is:

  • Synced passkey. Your password manager keeps it on your other devices.
  • Passkey not synced yet. It can sync, but your password manager hasn't backed it up. Check that its sync is on.
  • Passkey on one device only. It can't leave that device. Made before Whoois stopped accepting these, it still works, but replace it with one that syncs.
  • Passkey not checked yet. Whoois will know whether it syncs after you next sign in with it.

Your password manager shows your name beside your passkey.

Next, you'll save your recovery codes.

What happens next?
  1. Check that you've never made an Itsmi profile. If you have, on any device, sign in with it instead.
  2. Give your first and last names, which your password manager shows beside the passkey, and make your Itsmi passkey. Save it in a password manager that syncs.
  3. Save your 8 recovery codes. Whoois shows them once.
